About Us:
Support and drive change and delivery in our organisation.
In Kensington and Chelsea, we put residents and communities at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient. We are committed to embedding lessons from the Grenfell tragedy and using these to drive the wider transformation of the council and its services. Against the backdrop of an increasingly challenging financial environment, it is more important than ever that we put people at the heart our decisions, and that we use the resources available in the most effective way.
The Role:
This is an exciting chance to be part of a newly-created function as part of the Corporate Strategy Team and Grenfell, Communities and Transformation Directorate. This is an opportunity to build expertise in project, programme and change management at the heart of a dynamic London borough. Supporting a portfolio of change initiatives, many of which cut across different functions and disciplines, you’ll provide the oversight and support that ensures delivery. We’ll encourage you to take ownership, and to identify and resolve issues before they become problems. As well as working on the Council Plan Action Plan, you can also expect to support projects in areas such as Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Strategy and Policy, and Performance and Insight.
Please refer to the Job Description for more information.
About You:
Proactive and ambitious, you’ll have some experience of working on small to medium-sized change or delivery projects, ideally in a local authority setting. Highly organised, you’ll be able to prioritise and work at pace. You’ll also be used to handling complex information and will have strong analytical skills. With a good knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel, you’ll be able to prepare briefing papers and correspondence to board or committee level. You’ll also be capable of building productive working relationships at different levels of the organisation and bringing people together to drive delivery and results.
In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.
