This role sits within the Home Office???s International Serious and Organised Crime (ISOC) Programmes Team.
The Countering Exploitation Programme is the Home Office???s international programme aiming to combat modern slavery and online child sexual abuse and exploitation overseas. It is mostly Official Development Assistance (ODA, or ???aid???) funded, and works in over fifteen countries. This is an exciting and important role, with the potential to make a real difference for vulnerable children and adults worldwide.
The Role:??
The job holder will be responsible for day-to-day programme management of the Modern Slavery Innovation Fund (MSIF), with the support of an HEO project and finance manager.
The current MSIF consists of twelve individual grants being delivered by civil society organisations across the Americas, Asia and Africa. It includes projects seeking to:
- Disrupt sex trafficking between Brazil and the UK Reduce bonded labour in brick kilns in India. Increase knowledge of the link between migration, climate change and increased vulnerability to modern slavery for migrant workers.
Responsibilities:

- Ensure sound programme management in line with best practice, with clear escalation and oversight of risk, spend and delivery against outputs and outcomes and proactively promoting learning. Ensure alignment with ODA requirements.Maintain regular communications with project (grant) leads and colleagues in UK embassy and build effective and collaborative relationships. Lead on promoting safeguarding and transparency for the whole Countering Exploitation programme.Monitor and report on overall MSIF progress through programme governance structures. Represent the MSIF in senior meetings and briefings. Line management of HEO finance and project officer.
Requirements:
Essential
- Programme or project management expertiseExperience working with a range of delivery partners, external stakeholders and across HMG.Excellent time management and organisation skills with the ability to take the initiative and deliver at pace.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Experience managing others and promoting their professional development.
Desirable
- Experience working internationally and/or on international facing projects.Experience of managing Official Development Assistance (ODA) spend and/or projects.
