SEO Specialist

SEO Specialist is sought to join the vibrant and forward-thinking in-house digital team of a large multinational insurance group. Within this role you will work focus on enhancing and optimising website performance, carrying out on-page and technical activities. The ideal person for this role will be passionate about SEO and enjoy working collaboratively with stakeholders as well as technical and creative teams. This is a great opportunity to work on projects of a global scale with fantastic scope for ongoing learning and development. Our client has beautiful offices in central London and offer hybrid working with approximately 2 days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support with executing redirect mappings as part of pre-launch migration activities
- Review audits and carry out necessary technical and on-page updates in our proprietary CMS, such as URL structure changes, fixing broken links, correcting heading hierarchy’s, adding missing meta data etc.
- Support with topic, keyword and user intent research to inform content build and optimisation
- Support with reviewing new content to ensure necessary on-page and technical requirements are met
- Support with carrying out existing content performance analysis to identify areas for improvement
- Analyse the impact of activities, reporting on key SEO KPIs such as organic traffic, rankings, brand vs non brand clicks, and leads, and present findings in a clear and engaging manner.
- Create and contribute towards the improvement of team processes and documentation, and where relevant, identify and utilise supporting tools to upskill and teach other stakeholders across the business.
Key skills and experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in a similar role - either in house or agency side
- An understanding of how search engines work, and modern practices.
- Basic understanding of Core updates as well as user-centric principles such as E-E-A-T, Helpful Content, YML etc.
- Good proficiency with Excel / Google Sheets
- Experience with Google Search Console, SEMrush or similar, ScreamingFrog, and Google Analytics
- Confident communicating professionally with people across the business, using a range of styles and techniques to adapt to different stakeholders and language and cultural barriers
- Good numerical ability: you’ll need to be comfortable with numbers and able to spot trends and patterns
- You will be inquisitive, action-orientated and enjoy change. Working in a collaborative, agile team you will thrive in the kind of environment where you can share and reciprocate knowledge
- Strong organisational skills
- Strong command of the English language with excellent written, editing and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Self-motivated and proactive with a good sense of ownership, able to work well under pressure, prioritise tasks and adapt to last minute requests
