Fixed term full time post: Serious Youth Violence, Engagement and Intervention Officers (Grade 4) x 12 posts *Starting salary scale £ 32,076- £39,186* Reporting to: Deputy Manager - Serious Youth Violence (Pilot), Targeted Intervention Team About you We are excited to advertise a two-year fixed term full time post within EMPOWERU to lead on the implementation and operation of a pilot aimed at preventing and reducing Serious Youth Violence. This is a challenging position, requiring resilience, agile thinking and a commitment to partnership working, to achieve the best outcomes for our children, young people and wider community.This post is a 24/7-day service on a rota basis. The service is targeted at children vulnerable to peer-on-peer violence providing support to children either directly affected by serious violence or vulnerable to serious violence.We welcome both external and internal candidates (for Trust staff this is a secondment opportunities) and those with lived experiences. We will also consider a job share.Due to the sensitivity of the role and close joint working with the Police, this offer will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and additional vetting, as well as any disclosures with regards to conflict of interest.The role:This is a high-profile role which requires the successful candidate to manage sensitive information. The successful candidate will be expected to:Develop effective child-centred interventions by building trusting relationships experienc
e of delivering high-quality face-to-face work with individuals and/or groups of children and their families, where Serious Youth Violence is a concern.Ability to identify safeguarding concerns and provide intelligence on what could occur within the community and report these concerns in a timely manner (whilst seeking support and guidance from a Deputy Team Manager).Ability to assess risk levels accurately to plan an appropriate response.Ability to prepare and implement intervention plans, and update and record outcomes.Experience of helping to develop initiatives which improve the way children can exit gangs or Serious Youth Violence.Ability to deliver good quality presentations and awareness sessions on Serious Youth Violence and/or exploitation.Experience of organising coordinated responses when gang reprisal attacks are likely.Experience of coordinating place-based initiatives, underpinned by good locality assessments.What do you need? Have education to level 6 or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
