An exciting opportunity exists within a national business for an aspiring 3rd line engineer with broad infrastructure including M365 skills, to help with a mixture of BAU and project activity
The role can be undertaken remotely so long as the person is able to be in Darlington 1-2 days per month.
Applicants need to have Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK as our client doesn't sponsor visas and can't employ someone on a permanent basis who is on a Post Study Work Visa.
The Role
As a Server & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for building, managing, supporting, maintaining, optimising and monitoring data centre and cloud compute and storage environments. You will work closely with other technology team members, colleagues within the wider IT team and third-party providers, working to ITIL standards and process.
- Proactively manage data centre and cloud compute and storage environments to assure the delivery of services, applications and data
- Proactively manage core, centralised and distributed technology with a view to providing "always on" connectivity for mission critical services
- Ensure all technology domains, components and services are secure and operated within prevailing security policies which aim to mitigate current and emerging threats.
- Ensure all technology domains are regularly reviewed and updated to maintain company and vendor supportable versions
- Provide advanced technical knowledge required to reactively triage and fix incidents as L3
- Analysis of technology performance, providing recommendations of enhancements and improvements.
The Requirements
As a 3rd line Infrastructure Engineer, you will have experience of delivering, managing and supporting solutions within compute, storage and security domains
Proficient across the M365 tenant product suite, ideally having worked with Intune and Autopilot, you will have extensive hands-on technical knowledge of a wide range of technology, protocols, operating systems and standards including:
- Server, storage & networking hardware
- Virtualisation
- Virtual Desktop Technologies
- Backup, Recovery & Disaster Recovery
- WAN, LAN & WLAN
- DNS
- PKI, network & information security
- Microsoft Server Operating Systems
- Microsoft Active Directory, Federated Services, Azure AD
- Email security
With strong problem-solving skills with a solutions-focused approach, you will have a high degree of accountability, commitment and responsibility, with both the ability to both build effective working relationships and collaborate ideas from multiple stakeholders as well as communicate concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
