Summary
Springhill House was the home of ten generations of the Lenox-Conyngham family. The house still holds the family's extensive collection of furniture, portraits and one of the most important book collections within the National Trust. Working as a Service Assistant will allow you to share the fascinating history of this collection and historic house with our visitors.
Salary: £10.50 per hour
Contract/duration: Flexible fixed term contract ending 31st December 2024
Hours/working pattern/hours: This role requires working weekends, bank holidays with flexibility for events outside of normal advertised opening hours when needed on a shared rota including other properties such as Wellbrook Beetling Mill and Grays Printing Press if required.

Springhill House is one of six properties within the Mid Ulster portfolio in Northern Ireland. The Collections and House team work across these properties to conserve them for the future but also bring them to life for visitors to enjoy. It is a fast-paced dynamic environment which requires flexibility and dedication to bring our spaces to life for all types of visitors to enjoy. You could be leading a tour for our local visitors or adapting for specialist groups and needs so interest in heritage and access needs is essential.
What you'll be doing
Service Assistants play an important role in supporting various property teams in greeting and helping our visitors. No two days are the same and you can expect to meet lots of different people and help in various visitor areas. You’ll be involved in different tasks. These could include greeting visitors on arrival, restocking the shelves in the shop and clearing tables in the café. Most importantly you’ll talk to visitors, answering any questions they have to make sure they can find everything they need for their visit. This role would suit anyone with a passion for delivering great customer service and a keen interest in learning about visitor operations.
