Job description

About the role you're considering

We are looking for a straight thinking Service Design Consultant to join the award-winning Digital Experience team within Capgemini.

This role is dynamic and hands-on. You will be expected to support our delivery through user-centred design methods: translate user needs, business objectives, and technology capabilities into world-class services for leading companies and government.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time

Your role

You will need to be comfortable facilitating workshops with senior stakeholders, managing and undertaking research with users and express your ideas and insights using personas, prototypes, user journeys and service blueprints.
Evaluating existing services in terms of usefulness, usability, content and accessibility
Working with clients to understand their needs, communicate how our team can help them and design a solution to realise their ambition
Have an understanding and experience in user research methods. You know when to use those methods and how to apply them correctly
Planning and conducting behavioural in-context user testing and document the findings
Providing evidence-based recommendations to the client and internal team and turn insights into opportunities for cost reduction, revenue generation or other business value
Applying technical knowledge and experience to build prototypes and work with other specialists to do so – you have a broad understanding of parameters, technical restrictions
Facilitating workshops with stakeholders, users and technical team to drive consensus around the service vision
Giving support and leadership to the delivery team to take a holistic service design approach
Helping drive the Experience Design team’s vision and direction

You can bring your whole self to work. At Capgemini, stiving for equity, diversity and inclusion is part of everyday life, and will be part of your working reality. We have built an inclusive and welcoming environment, for everyone.

Your skills and experience

As an experienced member of the team, you will make a positive impact on the quality of our offer by delivering the service design activity on critical projects. You will also help mentor and support other members of the team and contribute to the development of our strategy.

  • Experience working with government – delivering within the Government Service Standard and managing GDS assessments is highly desirable
  • Experience planning, conducting and analysing outputs from user research
  • Degree preferred within a design-related or HCI/Usability/Cognitive Psychology discipline
  • Candidates must be versed in user-centred design methods and techniques. Excellence in analytical thinking, process-oriented skills, verbal and written skills
  • Experience in working within an Agile manner within a commercial environment. Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams, multi-vendor teams
  • Keen to learn, evolve, and continually challenge yourself and the way you do things. Good project case studies/portfolio (web-link or PDF) outlining your contribution towards each project (all submissions treated with the strictest confidence)

Your security clearance

To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance.
To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.
Throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.
Some posts are restricted to sole UK Nationals for security reasons; therefore, you may be asked about your citizenship in the application process.
