About The Service Engineer Role:
As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing our safety shower products across the UK and occasionally Northern Europe.
This customer-focused role requires teamwork and professionalism when interacting with colleagues, clients, and other trades. By upholding the company's standards and guidelines, you will contribute to the positive image of Hughes Safety Showers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service and maintain Hughes Safety Showers products
- Support internal and external customers (Sales, Admin, Operations)
- Promote fixed service plans and identify cross-selling opportunities
- Perform critical field service activities
- Assist in service van stock reduction and monitoring
- Ensure adherence to Hughes Safety Showers' guidelines and standards
- Maintain professional appearance and promote company image
- Follow all company and site regulations to set a good example
- Complete necessary company documentation promptly
- Attend required training courses and meetings
- Provide support, cooperation, and contribute to company success
- Observe and adhere to company health & safety guidelines for a safe working environment
The Ideal Candidate:
Ideal candidates for this role should possess a qualification or have experience at level 3 or above in disciplines such as plumbing, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering.
Professional qualifications in health and safety management, ATEX, and other relevant industrial standards are highly desirable.
Additionally, candidates should have relevant professional experience in the industrial and manufacturing sector.
Technical Skills:
- Competent in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing skills
- Aware of industrial health and safety compliance
- Familiar with ATEX, ISO9001, ISO18001, ISO14001, and relevant industrial standards
- Excellent customer-facing skills
- Strong decision-making abilities, adaptable to unforeseen customer requirements
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Desirable knowledge of safety shower technical products
- Honest approach with respect for others, capable of cross-functional problem-solving
- Full clean driving license
