Service Engineer

As a Service Engineer, you will execute service work with low to medium complexity according to work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines. You will work closely with our customers and other ABB teams, acting as the technical point while delivering excellent customer service. In this role you will be responsible for providing routine maintenance, on-site reactive or remote technical support. This role will be covering the Northern region in England.

Your responsibilities

• Performing service tasks, identifying technical problems, making analysis through remote or on-site activity in different service categories (installation and commissioning, routine maintenance, extensions, replacements etc.).
• Creating and maintaining strong relationships with customers, appreciating their needs and providing assistance and solutions.
• Troubleshooting simple equipment failure and making recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future.
• Coordinates, prepares and ensures that all materials, parts and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality for Service activities.
• Prepares all documents and reports for the customer. Reports work done in a timely manner and follows up when needed.
• Applies safety rules and safe practices as well as environmental responsibilities. Reports unsafe practices and incidents.

Your background

• At least 2 years of experience within a Service Engineering role.
• Sound knowledge and hands-on experience in servicing, maintaining, commissioning and repairing, preferably within the robotics industry.
• Ability to travel within Ireland, UK and Europe.
• Collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills.
• A formal electrical / mechanical certification.
• English and Mathematics qualifications.
