Our client is an ambitious drinks equipment and service supplier based in Devon and are known for their exceptional client service and the development of long-term relationships with their clients and customers. Our client currently has an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced Service Engineer with an Electrical Bias to join the team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the installation, maintenance, and repair of all commercial equipment supplied and serviced by the client, including food processing machinery, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, drive systems, electrical control systems, etc.
- Install, commission, maintain, service, and repair client equipment to a high standard.
- Ensure a consistently high standard of quality in all work performed.
- Inspect equipment to ensure it is fit for purpose both before despatch and after installation/maintenance/service/repair work, promptly reporting any issues to your line manager.
- Modify new and used equipment as instructed by the Engineering Manager / Technical Support Engineer / Project Engineer.
- Complete work sheets and forms on the IT system.
- Adhere fully to all Health and Safety standards, directives, and company policies.
- Comply with all clients' Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Provide equipment training to staff and clients as required.
- Offer technical telephone support to clients as needed.
- Deliver excellent client service and work collaboratively with the Engineering team to provide effective solutions.
- Provide accurate technical advice to clients and stakeholders.
- Assess Health and Safety risks related to the work conducted on client sites and report any concerns to the Engineering Manager
- Apprentice trained qualified Engineer with experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial equipment.
- Experience in the Drinks / Fluid based food industry is desirable.
- Familiarity with process control, including pneumatic/hydraulic systems, drive systems, and electrical/electronic controls (PLC s)
- Sound working knowledge of Health and Safety is essential.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and fault find is essential.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Possession of a valid passport and driving licence.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK and Ireland, including overnight stays (essential).
- Strong organisational skills and personal responsibility, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
