We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Service Manager to oversee the operations of a supported living facility catering to mental health residents. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the field and possess the necessary skills to manage and provide high-quality care services to residents. Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
· Provide strong leadership and direction to the staff team, ensuring a positive and supportive work environment.
· Oversee the day-to-day operations of the supported living facility and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and CQC standards.
· Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
· Foster a culture of continuous improvement and promote a person-centered approach to care.
Resident Care and Support:
· Ensure the delivery of high-quality care and support services to residents, promoting their independence, well-being, and dignity.
· Develop and maintain individual care plans, in collaboration with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals.
· Regularly review and evaluate care plans to meet the changing needs of residents and ensure their overall well-being.
· Implement effective risk management strategies to minimize potential hazards and maintain a safe living environment.
Staff Management and Development:
· Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of the support staff, providing guidance and support as needed with regular supervision.
· Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, promoting staff engagement, and recognizing achievements.
· Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and knowledge of the staff team.
· Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates, address concerns, and promote effective teamwork.
Relationship Management:
· Establish and maintain effective relationships with residents, their families, and external stakeholders.
· Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and other relevant agencies to ensure holistic care for residents.
· Act as a liaison between residents, their families, and the organization, addressing any concerns or grievances promptly.
· Participate in meetings, conferences, and networking events to stay informed about industry trends and best practices.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Ensure accurate and timely record-keeping, including resident documentation, staff records, and financial reports.
Monitor and manage the facility's budget, ensuring responsible allocation of resources and cost-effective practices.
Prepare reports, maintain statistical data, and contribute to the overall strategic planning of the organization.
Stay updated on relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to mental health, supported living facilities and the CQC and NICE guidelines.
Qualifications and Skills:
Several years of experience in the field of mental health and/or supported living, with a proven track record in a managerial role.
Knowledge of mental health conditions, best practices in care, and relevant legislation and regulations.
Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Strong organizational and administrative abilities, including budget management and record-keeping.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and liaise with various stakeholders.
Demonstrated commitment to person-centered care, respecting residents' choices and promoting their independence.
Understanding of risk management principles and the ability to implement appropriate strategies.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work under pressure, and make informed decisions. Out of hours working may be required as part of this role.
Qualifications such as NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care or equivalent are desirable.
