Sessional ESOL Employability Tutors (Daytime and some weekends and evenings if necessary)
CALAT Sessional Lecturer Conditions: Band 1, Pts 3 to 8 – £30.69 to £37.34 (including holiday pay) per hour.
Tutors required to teach employability ESOL and or ESOL with IT skills courses to support the job market. Liaising with local employers, Careers Guidance Services, and research required to develop, plan, and teach relevant courses.
Applicants will need to have experience of teaching all levels from Pre-Entry to Level 2 EFL or ESOL. Applicants will be required to teach in classrooms and where necessary online via Zoom, using blended learning techniques. IT Skills essential. Experience of preparing learners for progression and accreditation as required.
Must be flexible in approach as work could involve travel to other centres, community venues, external classroom cultural visits, and trips to companies. Willingness to travel and teach in Thornton Heath, Croydon, Redhill, Haywards Heath, Crawley and Surrey/Sussex borders.
As a condition of employment all applicants should be qualified in their subject (CELTA or equivalent) with a teaching or training qualification. Teachers without a teaching qualification (Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training or equivalent) will be required to work towards the relevant qualifications. Tutors holding the equivalent to a Level 4 Certificate in Education & Training / Certificate in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS), or above, start at Pt 4 – £32.02 (including holiday) per hour.
Highly desirable: Teachers holding a NVQ level 3 or above Vocational qualification for example in Customer Service, Adult Care or Child Care.
