The client is a successful FMCG manufacturer based in Runcorn. They are aspiring to practice world class manufacturing and are always looking for ways to improve people and process.
Description
The Shift Manager will work a mix of 12 hour days and nights shift to:
- Lead the high level of day to day complexities in a complex and busy operational environment to deliver high quality products in a safe manner to plan. This will need a well-developed understanding of the future demand on their lines or area.
- Manage approx. 12 heads across production and some technical
- Implement/encourage lean or TPM
- Conduct regular 1-2-1's to understand what the team's struggles are regarding performance and improvements
- Adapt to different management styles
- Help get the site to a more proactive state rather than reactive
- Other key responsibilities for this role will be interpreting production plan schedule requirements and organising and deploying people, plant and material resources to implement the plan.
- You will prepare and lead Site briefings, daily start of shift meetings and weekly performance based team meetings using visual management; ensuring participation, contribution and feedback from all team members and support staff.
Profile
The successful Shift Manager will:
- Have an FMCG manufacturing background
- Be a strong manager, able to coach and develop staff
- Experience providing regular management support in 1-2-1's to drive performance
- Experience implementing TPM, CI, 5s or any other lean manufacturing approach
- Be ambitious and passionate
