As a Shift Manager, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider DC management team while leading a team of First Line Managers, creating a culture of continuous improvement through performance, motivation, training and development.
A natural problem solver with a focus on results, you’ll guarantee the achievement of KPI’s and maintain a Warehouse environment characterised by high standards of quality and safety, while ensuring all Warehouse activities run smoothly and that our people and customers have the best possible experience.
Please note the hours for this role are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm however flexibility is expected to allow cover for the FLM team’s annual leave and sickness.
This role will be based at our Distribution Centre situated at Cardrew Industrial Estate, Redruth.
You’ll help us by:
Maintaining high visibility on the shop floor, you’ll actively engage with the team on a daily basis, including holding briefs with the First Line Manager’s to ensure information is clearly communicated. You’ll manage the allocation of work to ensure delivery and quality targets are met, and you’ll act as a key point of contact in communication with the administration, stock, and management teams to resolve problems or issues that have been identified within the Warehouse.
An excellent team player, you’ll support the DC leadership team , covering duties in their absence and working collaboratively on projects within our Warehouse to drive efficiencies. You’ll act as a positive role model to the First Line Managers, promoting positive leadership and promoting a culture of inclusion and trust. You’ll carry out all areas of people management including recruitment, one-to-ones and capability reviews in line with company policy.
Liasing with external stakeholders, you’ll maintain positive relationships that positively represent Seasalt as a brand. You’ll ensure safe access to buildings during visits, supporting a secure, safe culture and loss prevention strategies.
The skills you’ll be sharing with the team:
- Able to work towards deadlines and targets in a fast paced environment while providing excellent, energised leadership
- Experience of leading a team in an inclusive environment, where people are the most important asset
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Able to make decisions that positively impact our Warehouse and the team
- Knowledge of Microsoft programmes, particularly Excel
- A relevant management qualification (level 3 equivalent) would be advantageous
- Able to influence with a coaching mentality
- A team player, willing to get stuck in and support other areas of our Warehouse where required
