Trelleborg Sealing Solutions is looking for a Shift Supervisor who will actively lead and motivate a team towards high-quality performance. The Shift Supervisor represents a key role within operations and manufacturing, responsible for supporting the Production Manager and a team of colleagues to ensure smooth workflow is achieved, utilising labour and equipment efficiently to produce a high-quality product delivered on time.

About the Job
Job tasks and responsibilities include:
- Demonstrate how business performance is impacted and provide solutions to improve KPIs.
- Efficiently plan resources and raise concerns with their Production Manager. Suggest appropriate solutions to resolve issues.
- Take care of conflicts expertly and according to company objectives.
- Address investigations, disciplinaries and grievance issues in accordance with company procedures.
- Handle attendance and sickness levels and conduct return-to-work interviews.
- Handle staff performance, conduct appraisals and performance reviews, and identify training needs.
- Ensure adequate training is maintained to achieve a flexible workforce.
- Maintain the skills matrix and supervise Time & Attendance daily.
- Authorise holidays and other types of absence.
- Ensure quality targets are met and lead root cause analysis events to prevent re-occurrence.
- Fully support continuous improvement and lean programs.
- Assist in standard processes and the continuous improvement of manufacturing methods/processes.
- Attend and support meetings as the need arises by management.
The ideal candidate
Our Shift Supervisor should possess excellent interpersonal and planning skills, they should be a strong teammate who can lead and empower others. Shown experience in people management is a must-have. In addition, they must possess strong PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Good communication skills are vital, both verbal and written (in English). The candidate should thoroughly understand workplace Health and Safety requirements, be committed to continuous improvement, and demonstrate an understanding of lean principles. Strong numerical and problem-solving skills are important.
Education and Experience
- Line Management experience.
- Relevant industry background in a similar role
- Professional qualification in production management is desirable.
- Engineering or industry-proven experience
- IOSHH qualification, or willing to acquire the qualification.
