The role
We are currently hiring for a Shift Supervisor, reporting to the Production and Engineering Manager. This is a people management focussed role, overseeing the production and packing activities across shifts, ensuring the efficient operation of injection moulding and packing processes while maintaining quality standards, meeting production targets and ensuring the safety of the workforce. Your role will involve supervising operators, technicians, and other production staff, coordinating workflow, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
The role works Monday to Friday from 2-10pm.

What you ll be doing
Ensure Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards or non-compliance issues promptly.
- Ensure that all personnel are properly trained on safety procedures and equipment operation.
- Lead and supervise a team of operators and technicians to ensure smooth operation of injection moulding, Nailers, packing machines and related equipment.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on production priorities and individual skill sets.
- Monitor production and packing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer demand.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement measures to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel to schedule preventive maintenance and minimize equipment downtime.
- Monitor equipment performance and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during production.
- Conduct process confirmation to ensure that products meet specifications and customer requirements.
- Implement corrective actions to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Work closely with the quality control team to investigate root causes of defects and implement corrective measures.
- Provide leadership and guidance to production staff, including coaching, training, and performance evaluation.
- Resolve conflicts and address disciplinary issues in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate production records, including shift reports, production logs, and schedule adherence
- Compile data and generate reports on production metrics, including output, scrap rates, and downtime.
- Communicate effectively to provide updates on production status and performance.
What we are looking for?
- Appropriate qualification in a related field or time served experience performing similar role
- Proven experience in production, preferably in the volume manufacturing industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of production, equipment and materials
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and quality management principles.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office
- Experience of injection moulding would be advantageous
