About the role:
Astute’s Power team is partnered with a global waste management company, who operate several Energy from Waste Power Stations, to recruit a Shift Team Leader for their Energy from Waste Power Station in North Hykeham, Lincolnshire.

The vital Shift Team Leader role comes with a salary of up to �56,863 + Bonus + Overtime + Benefits.

Responsibilities and duties:
As a Shift Team Leader Engineer, you will be responsible for:

* Day-to-day leadership of the shift operations team who will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the plant.
* Ensuring the plant is operating within its parameters whilst complying with strict HSE rules and regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
* Managing the sites safety systems including the permit to work system and acting as a HV Senior Authorised Person for the purpose of issuing permits, switching, and carrying out isolations.
* Providing technical supervision and assistance where necessary for company and contract staff engaged in work.
* Providing effective training and monitoring of shift staff to ensure personnel are competent to undertake their duties.
* Providing effective administration and application of safe systems of work and Health and Safety policies.

Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:

* Ideally have a HNC minimum qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
* Being HV Senior Authorised Person will be highly advantageous.
* Ideally have a formal Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH

Personal skills:
The Authorising Engineer role would suit someone who has:

* Prior experience working in operations within a heavy process engineering environment such as Power (EfW, Biomass, CCGT, OCGT, Coal, etc), Steelworks, Refineries, COMAH sites, etc.
* Excellent proven leadership skills
* Thorough understanding of using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
* Good Knowledge of safe systems of work and health & safety within a power station or similar heavy process environment
