Our charity Market Street Shop in Lancaster sells high-quality, pre-loved items such as clothes, bric-a-brac and books, and we are looking for a Shop Manager to join our team. Do you have a passion for excellent customer service, sustainability and charity retail? Do you enjoy working with people and get a buzz from driving sales and standards? If so, we’d really like you to be a part of our mission to be a sustainable retail force on the high street, whilst raising vital income for the Hospice and the people in our community who need us
Nichola Tomlinson is one of our Shop Managers, and here’s what she has to say about working for St John’s Hospice Shops >
“I joined the Shops team in 2022, and I find my job to be really rewarding. Everyone within the retail sector of the Hospice is supportive and approachable. Having worked for a couple of Corporate companies before coming here the way the shops are run is totally different but in a good way, bit more relaxed and you have more say about your shop and how you want to run it. The Training opportunities are excellent and again everyone really will help in any way you need them too to support you through them.
You have 7 weeks’ worth of holidays and a few days off over Christmas and New Year which is a massive bonus in retail these days. I know I made the right decision to take on this job role and find it so rewarding to make money in the shop that goes to a very worthwhile local charity.”
