Your local British Red Cross shop has a variety of activities available for volunteers to support us in. From sorting stock & preparing donated items for sale to providing great customer service to our donors and customers - we have something to suit most people’s interests. Our shops rely on our volunteers to keep them running successfully. **We are currently looking for
Van Assistant volunteers**. Our shop delivers and collects within the local area. Our volunteers help the driver to safely load and transport these items to and from our customers. **
Van Assistant volunteer - typical activities** - Supporting drivers by helping to deliver and collect items across the local area. - Moving stock to other shops. - Helping load and unload items for delivery (including bulky items) in line with our health and safety guidelines. - Keeping the van and warehouse well organised and tidy. No experience is needed. Full training will be provided. **The minimum age for this role is 18**. There is no expectation to use a till or computer in this volunteering role. **When can I volunteer?** A few hours during the week/weekend - as agreed with the shop manager.
