The Simulation Engineer will:
- Provide analysis data to support on-going requirements tracking and V&V when test/experimental data is not available or feasible to measure.
- Liaise with external (third-party) simulation consultants and developers to leverage cutting edge advancements in process simulation.
- Present analysis outcomes at critical meetings such as project gates, customer reviews, design reviews, and issue resolution.
- Use knowledge of process parameters critical to quality to inform Manufacturing control plans, PFMEA and work instructions.
- Define a system and reporting structure that ensures traceability between models, input data (such as equation/characterisation dataset, materials, geometry part numbers, supporting test data) and output data.
The Simulation Engineer will have:
- Master’s Degree qualification (MEng, MSc or equivalent) awarded grade 2:1 or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
- Some experience in 1D modelling tools such as MATLAB Simulink, Dymola, and the practice of building flow circuit and 1D system models.
- Proficiency in CAE software tools such as COMSOL, Abaqus, STAR-CCM+, ANSYS (Mechanical and Fluent) in modelling multiphase and multi-level problems in both FEA and CFD.
- Experience in electrode manufacturing in battery, fuel cell and semiconductor applications. Other relevant industries covering chemical processing, rolling processes, reel-to-reel (web) industries such as FMCG, Paint & Printing industries, Pharmaceuticals, Metal/Plastic Industry will be considered.
- Good understanding of product delivery using V&V and Agile methodologies.
- Attention to detail – data-driven, diligent, and thorough in approach to conducting simulation and experimental studies.
