As the Site Manager you will organise and manage the Timberpak site operations at Leeds. The Site Manager will promote high levels of quality, safety and environmental awareness within the site and to act as a role model to others. Your Tasks
- Ensure the efficient management of the Leeds Timberpak sites in line with relative Waste Management Permit, business objectives and management performance indicators.
- Lead and facilitate actions to improve systems and methods e.g., HSE, plant performance and profitability.
- Support to the Director Timberpak, developing strategies, procedures and working practices as required.
- Budget and co-ordinate the resources of materials, machinery (including maintenance, spares parts etc.) and employees, to ensure optimum plant utilisation and production cost.
- Monitor and report on performance against targets; ensuring the finish product meets agreed specifications.
- Work with external and internal partners to ensure that all plant and equipment is maintained in line with manufacturer’s recommendations.
- Manage and develop all department personnel to meet current and future operational requirements to include recruitment, appraisals, and training and development.
- Lead and ensure that the highest standards of are complied with and whilst promoting safe attitudes while performing work.
- Take responsibility for compliance with the relevant waste legislation for the handling, processing and onward disposal of waste wood.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and customers including collaboration with other departments including, Sales, Health and Safety, Log Yard and Raw Board.
Our Requirements
- NVQ Level 4 in Waste Management preferred.
- NEBOSH Supervising Health and Safety certificate
- Full driving license.
- Good knowledge of the Waste Management Licensing Legislation 1994/ Waste Strategy 2000, COTC/ WAMITAB.
- Significant, related work experience, including developing and managing people.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of procedures and methods for purchasing recycled materials.
- Intermediate standard of IT skills and competent use of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
