The role

• Responsibility for the safe and compliant operation of Wrexham Incinerator and associated activities, to achieve optimal operation.
• Lead and mentor direct reports to ensure compliance with regulatory standards for safety, health, and environment.
• Manage operations within budgeted costs, formulate budgets, and forecast projected costs, savings, and profits.
• Provide high-quality service to all customers
• Ensure full compliance with Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality procedures/permits.
• Provide leadership and support to all direct reports.
• Establish and maintain a culture supporting a zero non-compliance approach on health & safety and environmental issues.
• Accountable for daily activities of Processing facilities and vehicle fleet in line with annual budget requirements.
• Implement a preventative maintenance program and propose improvements to exceed KPIs.
• Analyze downtime and reduced throughputs to identify root causes and prevent reoccurrences.
• Introduce a comprehensive system for the management of change.
• Build effective relationships with internal and external customers to enhance profitability.
• Maximize revenue and cost control on site, managing customer expectations.
• Investigate, recommend, and implement operating regimes that minimize costs and promote efficiency.
• Meet with key customers to build relationships and understand their needs.
• Build effective and trusted relationships with stakeholders.

The person

• Extensive operational experience in a similar environment.
• Incineration experience desirable.
• Experience managing and reporting costs, prior P&L experience is desirable.
• Experience of implementing a learning culture where problems and improvement opportunities are identified and implemented at all levels to show quantifiable business improvements.
