As we embark on constructing Sizewell C (SZC), a nationally significant infrastructure project, we are seeking a dedicated Site Operations - Storage Operations Manager to oversee the intelligent handling and storage of materials vital for this groundbreaking nuclear power station.

Job Purpose / Overview

As the Storage and Inventory Operations Manager, you will be a key player in ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations for the SZC project. Reporting directly to the Freight and Logistics Service Manager, your role involves managing SZC's storage facilities, collaborating with logistics service providers, and contributing significantly to nuclear safety and environmental compliance.

Principal Accountabilities

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the delivery of Storage and Warehouse services, overseeing approximately 50-75 staff and specialist contractors.
• Developing and executing effective strategies aligned with the overall programme execution plan.
• Providing planning, management, and supervision for safe and effective inventory management.
• Developing governance arrangements for Inventory Management to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, project commitments, and company policies.
• Offering technical advice on Storage and Inventory Management for the procurement of SZC storage and warehouse operations services.
• Ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency throughout the Site Operations team.
• Managing the execution of inventory management activities, including oversight of the contractor's team.
• Preparing monthly reports for various workstreams, including safety performance, SLAs, KPIs, financial reporting, project forecasting, and forward planning.
• Developing a holistic understanding of the SZC programme to identify potential scope gaps within logistics services.
• Providing project management support for emergency preparedness and technical support for emergency preparedness and security infrastructure.
• Building effective relationships with service contract partners and championing clarity, respect, positivity, humility, and integrity.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience

Essential:

• BSc Degree qualified or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience in the storage and inventory management field.
• In-depth knowledge of transport operating regulations.
• Substantial warehousing experience, including receipt and despatch of goods.
• Experience working in a high-security environment.
• Proven track record of delivery within a large project environment.
• Intellectual capacity to deal with complex issues and work within a local supply chain vision.
• Experience in complex Industrial Relations within a nuclear construction project context.
• Understanding of preservation, maintenance, and special storage requirements.

Desirable:

• Confidence in own abilities and the ability to deliver in a dynamic environment.
• Transport Operators Licence holder.
• Senior management (or leadership) experience in a service lead environment.
• Experience of working with and developing similar-sized packages of work relating to expected budget of up to £150m.
• Knowledge of Institute of Nuclear Power Organisations (INPO) standards:
• Work Management (AP-928)
• Configuration Management (AP-929)
• Recognized and certificated 'Behavioural Safety Programme'.
• Recent IOSH accreditation [or equivalent].

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

• Proven specialist experience in operations management in the Storage, transport, and Inventory management field.
• Proven specialist experience in warehouse operations.
• Specialist technical knowledge in industry-relevant systems and services.
• Experience in managing an office environment.
• Proven specialist experience in logistics planning in a heavily regulated project environment.
• Previous experience in leading warehouse and inventory management teams across a large geographic area on significant projects.

Desirable:

• Chartered Membership of relevant body.
• Recognized Logistics and Transport Qualifications.
• Health & Safety Qualification.
• Nuclear Construction Site experience.
