Location: Burton
Permanent – Full Time

We are now recruiting for Site Packaging Leaderto join us. Reporting to the Site Production Manager this role will be responsible for:

Key Accountabilities:
  • Operational Excellence: Take a lead role in delivering improvement, embedding working practices that deliver sustainable results – creating pride in your workplace!
  • Develop a behavioural safety culture and promotion of a safe working environment – complying with our health and safety policies
  • Ensuring the team strictly adheres to all standards, including food safety, hygiene & BRC compliance whilst driving continuous improvement in customer satisfaction, quality and environmental departmental performance through problem solving techniques
  • Identify & prepare capital projects for Executive approval that deliver operational efficiencies and product profitability
  • Recruit, lead and motivate – developing a flexible, multi skilled team
  • Effective performance management of all direct reports (5), maintaining team engagement – setting a clear development strategy that’s driven through effective deployment
  • Effectively communicate strategic plans, regular business performance updates & local KPI performance to teams
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with the engineering resource to ensure maintenance plans are met – alongside engaging with people at the shop floor through safety & Gemba walks
  • Developing clear processes for managing material/ non material losses – proposing innovative ways to find sustainable solutions
Experience and Key Attributes:

  • Brewing diploma is desirable but not a necessity
  • Demonstrable experience within a blue chip food manufacturing/ FMCG company
  • Packaging and technical brewing knowledge is desirable
  • Experience in using Lean tools and continuous improvement techniques and to deliver sustainable improvements
  • Knowledge of key standards in Quality, Health & Safety and environmental is desirable
  • Previous experience as a people manager would be beneficial
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to network positively, including internal stakeholders and colleagues
  • Ability to work to a tight timescale, ensuring production targets are met
  • Proven skills in budgetary control – focusing on annual budgets and delivering on cost saving initiatives
  • Strong experience in a unionised background, dealing with complex Employee Relations environments
