Job Title: Shunting/Cleaning Supervisor
Job Location: Kettering
Pay Rate: £42,588 per year
Duration: 6 month + contract
Shifts: 4 on 4 off days, nights and weekends
Opportunity
We have a number of positions available with a leading service provider to the Transport Industry with in the UK.
Position Summary
This role manages the day to day delivery of the of the Depot operation at the Kettering Electric Sidings. The role is shift based 24/7.
The Duty Depot Delivery Manager will manage the interface with all stakeholders such as traincrew, drivers, third party contractors, Network Rail and Control to ensure that the operations of the sidings are delivered safely.
The role will also be responsible for the safe movement of trains on and off the sidings and the development, maintenance and delivery of the associated operational procedures at the location.
Main Responsibilities
* Lead and direct all Fleet and driver operations on and off the sidings. Ensure work is carried out to the agreed operational standards and that assigned tasks are progressing appropriately.
* Ensure safe control of the movement of trains on and off the sidings and manage all associated issues with the appropriate parties.
* Accountable for third party contractors at the site and will be the designated single point of contact for ensuring contractors are working safely and within operational standards for the site.
* Accountable for ensuring that third party contractors on site meet their required contractual service level agreements associated with site maintenance and cleaning regimes.
* Provide real time information to Control and the Outstations Depot Manager to ensure train performance KPI's are met as expected.
* Report and document through the associated incident management procedures any operational problems that occur or are likely to arise ensuring that where appropriate necessary investigations and incident reports are completed.
* Be the site point of contact for Network Rail
* Act as the Designated Person in charge of the site
* Maintain and update the appropriate operational systems, KPI's and other activities as required by the Outstations Depot Manager
* Deliver the processes associated with CET discharge, replenishing water and any other train service check tasks to the required standards.
* Act as the safety role model and challenge any unsafe acts across the sidings. Ensure cleaning staff, site maintenance staff and other contractors are using the correct PPE for the activity taking place.
* Be the designated fire warden and first aider for the site
* Undertake shift briefings to cleaning contractor's staff and site maintenance staff relating to changes to safety procedures and changes to the rules and regulations as required.
* Undertake inductions on the sidings for contractors or other parties as required.
* Ensure the working environment is kept clean and tidy with the necessary equipment for the safe requirements of work.
* Maintain site notice cases with the appropriate information which may include, safety information, publication of rosters from resources, late notices, and any other required information for notice case provision.
Experience Required
* Thorough understanding of all aspects of the Fleet operating and driver working environment.
* Thorough understanding of the siding's layout, its operational ability, and the space allocation of the sidings.
* Thorough understanding of current rules, regulations, siding operation instructions and safety instructions applicable to operations.
* Operationally competent in the duties of Designated Person (DP).
* Trained to carry out risk assessments.
* Assessor training - holds the A1 assessor qualification
* Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
* PTS
* Supervisory training.
* IOSH Trained
* Incident management trained
