The Guinness Partnership is one of the leading providers of affordable housing and care services in England. We build and manage homes and provide housing services for around 140,000 customers nationwide. Guinness Property, our in-house maintenance service, delivers repairs to 55,000 of our homes. Our national teams deliver rapid-response housing repairs, maintenance, and improvement services to ensure our customers’ homes are safe and maintained to a high standard.
About the role
We currently have the opportunity for Skilled Labourers to join us on a permanent, full-time basis. As Skilled Labourer you will assist qualified trades personnel to carry out remedial works to a high quality, ensuring that a customer focused maintenance repairs service is delivered. You will be working independently covering Crewe and the surrounding areas and will be provided with a van & a mobile device.
The role sits within our Responsive Repairs & Empty Homes Team and will be hands on supporting multi-skilled trades with repairs, clearances, groundworks, cleaning and decorating alongside, and other duties as required, in Crewe, Nantwich & Chester.
What we’re looking for
We’re a customer-focused organisation so we know that how we do things is just as important as what we do. You’ll ideally have previous experience supporting multi-skilled operatives as a Labourer and have great customer service skills and a willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done.
Essential experience:
- A Full UK Driving Licence is required.
- Proven ability to carry out minor remedial building works to a competent standard such as (but not limited to) groundworks and painting.
- Experience of working in a customer focused environment within agreed performance targets.
- Proven ability to work methodically, follow agreed procedures and accurately record data and information.
- Ability to carry out physical tasks and lift weights in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines.
- Ability to operate safely having considered any environmental circumstances and possible risks including working at height(s).
- Demonstrate the Guinness Behaviours.
Desirable experience and qualifications:
- Health and Safety Knowledge.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Experience of working within the social housing sector
- Experience of cleaning and clearing homes
- Level II NVQ or relevant experience
- PASMA
Your Welcome Bonus is payable in 2 parts. £500 is paid in your first month’s salary and £500 is paid when you pass your probation. To be eligible for the Welcome Bonus you must be an external applicant and not currently employed by The Guinness Partnership.
Please note: Guinness employees who have left the company within the last 12 months are not eligible to receive recruitment incentive payment.
