Key Responsibilities
As a Skills Centre Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and effective operation of our educational provision. Your duties will include:
- Management: Provide first-line management to a small team of tutors, including resource planning.
- Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations to ensure retention, achievement, success, and attendance rates meet contractual and internal targets.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary contact for stakeholders regarding staffing, rooms, timetabling, and resources.
- Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement in the quality of education and learner experience, providing coaching and supervision for tutors.
- Data Management: Provide accurate and up-to-date data and information to the management team.
- Employer Engagement: Work closely with the Employer Engagement team to facilitate employer contact and contribution to courses.
- Process Adherence: Contribute to the development and adherence to processes and standard operating models to achieve contractual, compliance, and quality targets.
- Quality Management: Participate in the quality management of provision, including self-assessment and quality improvement planning.
- Curriculum Development: Assist in curriculum review and development to ensure engaging curricula that promote active learning and meet employer and learner needs.
- Tutor Cover: Provide tutor cover when required.
Qualification and Skill Requirements
Essential:
- Teaching qualification at L3 or above.
- Experience in operational management in an education or training setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Organised, self-motivated, and flexible.
Desirable:
- Leadership and Management qualification, ideally L5 or above.
- Experience in quality management or development of tutors or provision.
- Experience in curriculum development in Ofsted-aligned provision.
