Langford Vets (A subsidiary of The University of Bristol) is recruiting a Small Animal Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our team. Our Small Animal hospital is located the beautiful Somerset countryside, whilst being close to the vibrant city of Bristol. We have the largest team of European and RCVS Specialists in the South West, offering a truly multi-disciplinary referral service.
The successful applicant will be replacing one of our senior Orthopaedic Surgeons who after seven years is about to embark on a new adventure overseas. You will join our team of five ECVS / RCVS orthopaedic specialists, one staff clinician, six ECVS residents and an orthopaedic junior clinician.
Applicants must hold a veterinary qualification recognised by the RCVS that allows you to practise within the UK. The position should be particularly attractive to individuals that have completed the ECVS / ACVS diploma examinations and are hoping to develop within an experienced team. ECVS / ACVS examination eligible candidates will all be considered.
At Langford our orthopaedic team enjoy working within our excellent state of the art surgical facilities and have access to a large range of orthopaedic implant systems catering to individual surgeon needs! As well has having an interesting referral case load, we are one of the UK leading total hip replacement clinics, performing over 100 Biomedtrix BFX hip replacements every year.
As a teaching hospital you will also be expected to deliver high quality clinical teaching and practical instruction for undergraduate veterinary and veterinary nursing students and to interns during their hospital rotations and ECVS residents when rotating through orthopaedics.
