Social Worker - Care Experienced Children's Team
Full-time & Part-time contracts available
Are you passionate about improving the lives of children and young people? Do you want to work for an employer that values high-quality supervision, well-being, and career development?
Bridgend County Borough Council offer great opportunities to further your social work career. We want Social Workers to join us in assessing and supporting the children and families across the county borough.
We recently completed a restructure to provide an even wider range of pathways for children who are care-experienced. As a result of the restructure, four smaller case management teams have been created. These teams will be underpinned by a strengths-based approach within a collaborative and supportive environment.
We are currently recruiting Social Workers to be based within our new Care Experienced Children’s Team, which works with care-experienced children post-care proceedings and young people up until the age of 16.
We also have teams that offer expertise about children with disabilities and young people aged 16 and over who are entitled to leave care services.
Our MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) went live in April 2018. This service incorporates both the requirements of the Social Services & Well Being (Wales) Act 2014 alongside safeguarding our most vulnerable children and adults.
In 2020, Children’s Social Care launched the outcome-focused approach social work model, which underpins all of our practice in Bridgend County Borough. All new staff will receive a suite of training that will support them in developing their practice in accordance with the model’s principles.
We would love to hear from both experienced Social Workers and those in their first two years of service. If successful, you will receive a robust induction, regular supervision, additional support, and mentoring where required. You will also be able to further your career with developmental and promotional opportunities.
Our support programme for newly qualified Social Workers won the ‘Developing a Confident and Sustainable Workforce’ award in the 2018 Social Care Wales accolades.
We are a reflective organisation that continuously builds on its strengths and is committed to the principle that the most effective way of improving outcomes for all children, young people and families is by providing accessible, universal services.
Working in a rewarding and educational environment where staff feel valued is what you can expect with Bridgend County Borough Council as your employer. For further information on working as a qualified Social Worker in Bridgend, please contact Sian Williams at 01656 815211
