Tempting Recruitment is delighted to present a compelling opportunity with our respected client - a prominent council. We are currently seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join their dynamic team.
The Position
The duties you will be performing as part of your role:
- Assist the Team Manager in setting and implementing high standards for individual and team performance.
- Ensure service quality meets users' needs and the Service’s requirements.
- Take responsibility for a reduced caseload, focusing on conducting complex assessments, plans, and reviews for children, young people, and their families/carers.
- Assist other staff in completing assessments, plans, and reviews within agreed timescales and quality standards.
- Potentially supervise staff, managing the team in the absence of the Team Manager.
- Collaborate with the Team Manager to implement policies, procedures, and objectives, ensuring effective communication and understanding among team members.
- Effectively represent the Children’s Care Team within the County Council and with partner agencies.
- Collaborate with statutory, voluntary, and independent sectors to meet statutory requirements.
- Work in partnership with young people, families, carers, and professionals.
- Ensure users have access to advocates or independent representatives as needed.
- Prioritize the centrality of children, young people, carers, and parents' views in all aspects of service delivery.
- Participate in service developments designed to enhance engagement and improve outcomes for children and young people.
- Promote the quality of services through active involvement in multi-agency settings and within the Children’s Care Team.
- Maintain accurate records reflecting decision-making processes.
- Compile and present high-quality reports within the Children’s Care Team and other multi-agency settings.
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Possession of a degree in social work or an equivalent social work qualification (CQSW, CSS, or Dip SW).
- HCPC Registration. Attainment of the Post Qualification Award (e.g., PQ1 or Consolidation Module).
- NVQ Level 4 in management or equivalent.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Specialist Social Work with Children and Young People, their Families, and Carers.
- Substantial post-qualifying experience, including services to children, young people, and families.
- Proven experience in interagency and partnership work.
- Track record of supervising staff/students and contributing to service/project development.
- Enthusiastic about working with children, young people, and their families/carers.
- Committed to promoting life chances and achieving positive outcomes.
- Practising in an anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive manner.
- Devoted to children, young people, their families, and carers' participation.
- Works effectively under pressure.
- Willingness to share skills with others and self-motivation.
- Ability to assimilate and analyze information, making informed decisions to manage risks.
- Capability to handle emotional distress and challenging behaviour, including aggression.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, organize workloads, prioritize, meet deadlines, and thrive under pressure.
- Motivates others to achieve positive outcomes.
- Effective team player with interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in networking and advocating on behalf of young people.
- Possesses a current driving license or access to means of mobility transport.
- Information technology skills.
- Ability to monitor service provision against objectives and targets.
Daily Rate: £181 Per Day
Commencement Date: December/January 2023
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 9 am to 5 pm
