Software Developer - Prospects
Salary: Circa £42,000 per annum negotiable depending on experience
Contract: Permanent
Location: Hybrid - flexibility to work from home and at any of our main hubs (London, Bristol, Manchester and Milton Park - Oxfordshire)

Responsibilities will include:
  • Contributing to the development of a range of applications to support Jisc’s services by writing high quality code to agreed standards.
  • Working with users, product owners and team members to understand requirements, and help translate these into development tasks.
  • Participating in software testing and release cycles.
  • Demonstrating application features to users, either face to face, or remotely.
  • Following internal processes and standards for managing software development across its lifecycle, from initial design to regular feature releases and bug fixes.
  • Maintaining an understanding of application use with colleges, universities, students and staff, ensuring software developed matches their needs and expectations.

Key Skills and Experience:
  • Ideally, you will have a great skills mix with experience in some, or all, of: Javascript, NextJS, React, Typescript, Node.js, Java, Angular, Pug/Jade, Spring/Spring Boot, Python, Terraform, CDK, Azure, AWS, Docker, RESTful API design, WCAG accessibility
guidelines.
  • Ability to develop expertise in new languages and technologies as required.
  • An ability to explore technology solutions across the technology stack.
  • Experience working in the HE or FE sector.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
