Position Description
CGI is growing our digital leadership within our London Business Unit and are looking for a dynamic leader to lead software engineering team. You will take a leading role in pre-sales activities for complex digital transformation programmes, drive best practice throughout our software engineering community and lead our engineering teams to implement the clients vision.

Your future duties and responsibilities
Owning the development of winning software engineering proposals.
Owning the software engineering strategy across CGIs business unit by building and maintaining the engineering standards which will guide all engagements.
Providing leadership and technical expertise on client projects throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
Developing CGIs software engineering practice, ensuring the appropriate technologies and skillsets are present. Promote a culture of continual learning and continual improvement.
Focussing on continuous improvements including technologies, ways of working and culture, with an emphasis on automation to drive efficiencies.
Act as an internal and external champion for digital transformation, continuous improvement and industry recognised best practices.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
You will have a strong track record of technical leadership in complex digital transformations advising clients, writing, and winning work though competitive tendering processes. You should be able to demonstrate:
Technical and thought leadership experience across complex projects.
A successful track record of writing and winning complex digital transformation proposals that meet our clients technical standards.
Strong understanding and practical experience of software engineering approaches demanded in our sector, cloud-based architectures, and the complete software engineering lifecycle.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, at all levels, with all key stakeholders.
Ability to build, implement and direct software engineering principles and maintain the quality of delivery.
Key skills include:
Ability to explain complex information with agile development teams, and stakeholders both technical and non-technical
Expert in industry standard development methodologies and tools
Expert in Design of high-volume Back Office Systems hosted in Microsoft Azure
Expert in the following Technical Skills - C# .Net, C# .Net Core
TDD, Object Oriented Design, Clean Code Techniques
Expert knowledge in the following Microsoft Azure technologies (including but not limited to) :
Functions, Service Bus
SQL Server, CosmosDB, Storage
Azure DevOps, Bicep
App Insights
API Manager, Active Directory
Other beneficial skills will include:
Experience deploying Microsoft technology services using DevOps Pipelines
Experience maintaining cloud based applications on Azure or AWS
Demonstrable experience of working on high-volume transactional systems
Experience of the Transportation sector would be highly beneficial.
