Software Engineer

Blair West is supporting an exciting Martech business in their search to bring in a software developer to join their team, which is a newly created role for the business.

Due to an unprecedented period of growth & expansion of their product offering, they are looking to add key individuals to help deliver key internal projects and assist in the evolution of the project delivery function. The business works with some of the world’s leading brands, with a large breadth of customers across a variety of industries, with clients globally.

The business has core development effort is based in the Northeast of England, with a diverse working environment, where 55% of employees are female, and a strong track record of promoting from within. You will have a good understanding of all stages of digital development, an understanding of the part each developer plays and how it contributes to product delivery.

The opportunity:

• Working in modern development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban or TDD).
• Working with an ever-evolving tech stack (Currently undergoing a Tech Stack migration).
• Support the development of a suite of web applications & services.
• Continued development of products and services across architectural, process and end-user experience areas.
• Work cross-functionally with various teams.
• Perform a mix of maintenance, enhancements, and new development as required.

You'll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:

• Are comfortable developers working on the backend as much as the frontend.
• Have some experience with some of the following Tech Stacks: React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, (Experience in all not required, dedicating time to upskill and get familiar with technologies will be provided).
• Demonstrable experience with React.js / TypeScript (or other modern JS frameworks).
• Demonstrable experience in SQL databases (Postgres preferably).
