As a Quality Engineer on the Extensibility team your core responsibilities will be maintaining and improving the quality of our C API and Ruby API offerings, but there is much more to the role than that. We have a close relationship with our large community of extension developers, and you will have the opportunity to become a trusted leader in this community. We’re looking for someone with a passion for developing quality software and empower these external developers to extend the capabilities of SketchUp.
Reporting into our Senior Software QA Manager but working in a matrix structure of roughly ten internal colleagues across different functions not just within QA, you’ll work very closely with our internal Development team as well as third-party Developers. You’ll manually test product features and updates, you’ll become a product expert and one of the main points of contact for colleagues across Europe.

What You Will Do:
- Manual testing of SketchUp’s C API and Ruby API
- Test newly introduced or updated product features, track defects, and ensure quality of any code change
- Review design documents to ensure testability of new features as well as the quality of the design
- Being a leader in setting a high bar for quality standards
- Creation and maintenance of testing documentation
- Development and maintenance of automated tests in tools like TestUp
- Supporting partners using the SketchUp APIs and actively engaging with the SketchUp developer community
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of QA experience
- Proficiency with a defect tracking system such as JIRA
- Self-sufficient, can work with minimal guidance
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Ruby scripting
- API test experience
- Proficiency with 3D/2D modelling and visualisation software
- Real world experience in the Architectural or Civil Engineering field
