This role will primarily be responsible for maintaining high quality credit review and valuation dockets for their respective portfolio of Obligors, study alternative scenarios, track broad industry parameters and maintain a market sensitive balanced view, potentially in conflicting situations given multiple stakeholder reviews. The role requires good analytical skills in order to filter,
prioritise and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required and the work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.
What you'll do:
- Valuation and restructuring analysis for stressed companies/situations, including the determination of write-off and reserves impacting rating/classification and P&L of Citi.
- Prepare quarterly classification documents (credit memos) with detailed financial and credit analyses in order to maintain appropriate classifications of Citi's classified exposures.
- Assess liquidity, debt capacity and other areas of financial and operating performance to evaluate areas of weakness and potential for turnaround.
- Model companies' financial position to assess appropriate debt structure and accurate debt value using the most appropriate valuation methodology (Corporate Discounted Cash Flow Valuation).
- Timely monitoring of portfolio companies and reporting to senior credit and business management.
- Work closely with other colleagues (Seniors Bankers and Senior Credit Officer-level transactors) to remain coordinated on the restructuring/valuation process and assess likely restructuring scenarios.
- Liaise with internal business and product areas in the bank, as well as external fund managers, advisors and consultants to develop deeper industry expertise.
- Interact with external clients and third-party professionals engaged to support the plan.
- Assist in stress testing of portfolio for Comprehensive Captial Analysis and Review purposes.
- Develop and present action plans for assigned portfolio to senior management.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
- Advanced credit analysis and corporate financial modelling and valuation experience require.
- Ability to analyse and evaluate financial statements and business plans, across a range of industrial sectors.
- Proficient in MS-Office applications, knowledge of Bloomberg/FactSet preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of corporate and debt structuring, with a particular understanding of bank loan documentation.
- Commercial Credit training preferred, good understanding of risk profiles of all credit products.
- Knowledge of credit assessment techniques and policies of US banks preferred.
- Risk assessment and quantitative analysis experience.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships and communication skills, both written and verbally, ability to work autonomously, as well make meaningful contributions as part of a team.
- Previous Portfolio management experience would be an advantage.
- Proficient in MS-Office applications, knowledge of Bloomberg/FactSet preferred.
- Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience.
