This is a rare opportunity for an experienced, dynamic and self-motivated Senior Research Physiologist to join the Peart Rose Research Unit at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
The Peart Rose Research Unit is a dedicated out-patient research establishment currently providing support for numerous projects from disciplines including Cardiology, Pulmonology, Oncology and Haematology. These comprise of commercially sponsored, NHS funded, academic and PhD research studies.
The role of Specialist Research Physiologist involves performing a broad range of investigative and therapeutic procedures, often utilising novel techniques and/or newly developed equipment The role, working together with the rest of the team, is primarily without direct supervision and are expected to provide support for numerous projects from across multiple disciplines as well as manage the PRRU (and staff) as a dedicated outpatient establishment for research

The role of Specialist Research Physiologist involves performing a broad range of investigative and therapeutic procedures, often utilising novel techniques and/or newly developed equipment. The Physiologist must assess the relevance of research findings, based on the participant’s condition, and plan a course of action. He or she assists in the design and implementation of research projects to facilitate understanding and inform clinical practice. They contribute to the writing of academic papers for peer-reviewed publications and the preparation slides and posters for presentation. The Physiologist must understand and adhere to the principles of Good Clinical Practice in conducting all elements of the research and take responsibility for the study participant’s care while conducting the required procedures.
