Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 6 (aligned with AFC) £35,392 - £42,618 pro rata per annum

Hours/Contract: Part time - 22.5 hour per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Based: Marie Curie Belfast Hospice

Closing date: 16th July 2024

Interview date: W.C 29th July 2024

As a Specialist Social Worker, you will provide support within our in-patient unit, outpatient unit and our local communities. You will also be required to support our bereavement service. Ideally you will have experience of working with people who are dealing with end-of-life care issues and living with a life limiting illness. Due to the nature of the role, you will require access to a car and a valid driving licence allowing you to drive in the UK.

What we are looking for:

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work as an autonomous practitioner, as well as a team player
  • Knowledge and understanding of Palliative Care
  • Knowledge and understanding of Bereavement, grief and Loss
  • Degree in Social Work
  • Registered with NISCC
  • Experience of working with patients and families as part of a multi-disciplinary team within a healthcare setting and communities

The post holder will provide psychosocial support to patients and their families known to the hospice. The post holder will support developments within the patient and family support team and work closely with clinicians and managers in ensuring relevant national guidelines are followed and implemented, the safeguarding of both adults and children, supporting the delivery of high-quality care.
