Speech and Language Therapist- Head and Neck Cancer- Band 7

Location: Bradford

Start date- ASAP

End date- 3+ months

Shift Pattern:

• Full time (on the wards)
• 9:00 - 5:00

Skills/Experience:

• You will primarily be responsible for seeing outpatients at all stages of the head and neck cancer pathway, providing assessment and intervention for a range of communication disorders and dysphagia associated with head and neck cancer and its treatment. This includes patients undergoing surgical and oncological treatments, as well as providing interventions to patients before and after total laryngectomy.
• Opportunities to work with patients with voice disorders, both associated with head and neck cancer and more broadly, as well as other areas of the service depending on your experience, clinical interest and service need
• You will work alongside a friendly and effective multidisciplinary team, including in multidisciplinary clinics.
• Previous experience of working within head and neck cancer, including post total laryngectomy, is essential.
• You should have good knowledge of surgical voice restoration and the ability to trouble-shoot, with colleagues, for patients with voice and swallow difficulties after laryngectomy.
• Face to face work
• Dealing with patients head and neck cancer in an SLT role
