We are a specialist post-19 provision for adults aged 19-30 with complex learning and communication needs. Our vision is to provide a personalised and holistic curriculum that enables each of our young people to prepare themselves for the next stage of their life.
We do this by maximising opportunities for meaningful communication, developing life skills in a way that is appropriate and personalised to each learner and within our culture of believing and supporting our young people to make their mark on society. Life for people with learning disabilities should be one of endless possibility, enjoyable and fun despite the bumps along the way but most importantly, in their own way and time and shared as part of part of a wider and supportive community.
As a Speech and Language Therapist at FHL, you will be an integral part of our dynamic onsite multi-disciplinary therapy team dedicated to building the confidence of students and preparing them for life during and beyond college. Our therapy team provides Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Physiotherapy and works closely with external therapists as required for individual students.
As an autonomous professional working within our therapy team, you will help to support a high-quality educational experience for our young people. Alongside the team at FHL, you will deliver therapy, train others, and help to shape a developing service while enhancing your own clinical skills. You will contribute to service specific projects and could follow through your own ideas with the support of the educational and pastoral team.
We are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion.
We want our people to reflect our diverse communities and create a safe space in which everyone belongs. We welcome applications from individuals from all backgrounds and especially those from under-represented groups including those from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities.
