Are you a Sports Coach looking for supply/ long term work within schools?
GSL Education are currently recruiting for a Sports specialist to work at an SEN Primary- Secondary school providing 1:1 and group support.
The role includes working 1:1 with children who have complex behavioural needs and using sports as a therapeutic method to manage challenging behaviours and to support the child’s learning away from the classroom.
The role includes:
- Providing 1:1 behaviour interventions for pupils who have challenging behaviour and Mental Health difficulties
- General Group support and using sports as an enrichment activity
- Supporting the Class Teacher with daily tasks and planning.
- Taking small groups of children out of the classroom to use sports as a learning method
- Encourage learning and concertation in lessons
- Leading sports classes indoors and outdoors
- Support the teacher with planning, assessments and marking.
The ideal candidates will have:
- Experienced in coaching/working with children or young people with additional needs
- Experienced working with Challenging Behaviour, Autism and Social and Emotional Mental Health
- Relevant qualifications, qualifications in multiple sports will be an advantage
