Reed Further Education Yorkshire are working in partnership with a college in North Lincolnshire who are looking to hire a Sports Technician on a part time basis. The role is a term time only position, 15 hours per week over 36 weeks.
The college is looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and organised individual to work in the PE and Sport Department, to coordinate the high quality enrichment provision and to assist smooth running of the department. If you are a sports graduate, interested in increasing sporting opportunities for young adults or just wanting that first step into a sporting career then this is the job for you!
Salary: £12 - £13 Per Hour Including Holiday Pay
Hours: 15 hours per week - Monday and Wednesday with an additional day (flexible)
Start Date: September 2023
Job Responsibilities
- Organise, coordinate and develop the provision of competitive sport teams for all students across the college
- Communicate effectively, in line with the AoC and colleges expectations, with other colleges to ensure that fixtures are organised and arranged in advance
- Register students to AoC sport and other NGBs (where appropriate)
- Ensure that facilities (changing rooms included) are fit for purpose and are representative of the culture
- Liaise with estates and external providers to ensure that transport is provided for all fixtures
- Communicate with sports coaches and other relevant staff members effectively to ensure the smooth running of the enrichment sport provision.
- Ensure all equipment for both curriculum and enrichment sport is fit for purpose and liaising with staff members to remove, repair, replace any equipment not meeting standards.
- Working collaboratively with the curriculum area to organise events for current and prospective learners to participate in sport and physical activity.
- Support the enrichment programme and deliver / oversee sessions as and when required.
- Promote the enrichment sport provision, in collaboration with PE and Sport curriculum area and marketing, including but not exclusive to social media
- Liaise with AoC Sport and other organisations to ensure that the provision provided at the college is up to date, fit for purpose and suits the needs of the students
- Assist and support the daily requirements request by staff members of subjects within the area (PE, Sport, UPS)
- Assist and support the running of the colleges up-skill programme
