A company renowned for its expertise in the design and installation of automatic fire sprinkler systems is currently seeking an experienced Sprinkler Design Engineer to become part of their design team in Belfast. With a history spanning over 15 years, this firm has built a commendable reputation for excellence and operates in various sectors such as Commercial, Retail, Aviation, Industrial, and Hospitality.
Your new role
- To develop, and maintain professional relationships with clients, partners, and subcontractors.
- To ensure the system designs are produced of high quality, in compliance with the relevant standard and within the necessary timescales.
- Preparation of sprinkler system designs for a variety of applications (Large works, small works, LPC Rules, NFPA, FM)
- Production of technical documentation, installation drawings and coordination models.
- Production of hydraulic calculations.
- Design responsibility throughout the project life.
- On-site surveying where necessary
- Ensure compliance with the relevant design standards and project specifications.
- Specification of equipment in line with design criteria.
- Preparation of certification and O&M documentation.
- Update / review meetings with the client.
- Coordination meetings with external subcontractors within a multidisciplined design team.
- Liaison with suppliers with quarterly review on pricing
- Weekly progress meeting to senior management
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum three years' experience in the design of fire sprinkler systems.
- Minimum of LPCB Basic design qualification
- Knowledge of LPC sprinkler rules is essential.
- Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and Canute FHC design software.
- Relevant technical design experience and the preparation of technical documentation and drawings.
- A full UK Driving licence is essential
Desirable
- LPCB Intermediate and FHC design qualifications would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of FM & NFPA standards would be an advantage.
- Experience of water mist, hydrants & dry/wet riser systems would be an advantage.
