Job Duties:- Design and develop sprinkler and Fire system solutions in compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Create detailed design plans, including layout drawings, hydraulic calculations, and material specifications
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and objectives
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to gather necessary information for system Design
- Select appropriate sprinkler and Fire system components, considering factors such as building type, occupancy, and hazard classification
- Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, equipment schedules, and bill of quantities
- Ensure designs meet budgetary and project timeline requirements
- Review and evaluate existing fire protection systems, identifying areas for improvement or upgrade
- Stay updated with industry developments and advancements in sprinkler and Fire system Design
- Provide technical support and guidance to installation and maintenance teams
- Proven experience as a Sprinkler / Fire System Design Engineer or similar role
- Proficiency in using design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, HydraCAD, or similar
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including BS 9251, BS EN 12845, and NFPA
- Excellent understanding of hydraulic calculations and hydraulic principles
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Engineering, or a related field
Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in sprinkler and Fire system Design
Knowledge and Skills:- Comprehensive knowledge of sprinkler and Fire system Design principles
- Familiarity with different types of sprinkler systems and their applications
- Understanding of water supplies, pumps, and storage requirements for Fire systems
- Knowledge of fire detection and alarm systems
- Ability to perform hydraulic calculations and analyse results
- Proficient in using design software and tools
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional certification in Fire system Design or engineering
- Experience with designing Fire systems for pharmaceutical or FMCG facilities
- Knowledge of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis
The Sprinkler / Fire System Design Engineer will primarily work in an office environment, utilising design software and tools. However, occasional site visits may be required to conduct surveys and assessments. The role may involve collaborating with architects, engineers, and clients both on-site and remotely. The engineer should adhere to relevant health and safety guidelines and maintain a high level of professionalism throughout their work.
