Job description

Who we are:

Activate Learning is a pioneering education group with a global reach, committed to transforming lives through our approach to learning.

We see our employees as individuals, empowering them to make the right choices for their ambitions and careers. We value our people as vital to our continued success and aspire to a diverse, open and inclusive environment that provides the motivation for everyone to pursue their career goals and flourish.

When you work for Activate Learning, you’re working for an organisation that provides you with the advantages of a large employer, a trusted partner in your career development, and a transformational way of working whilst also investing in building a community environment for everyone.

Together, we will bring out the best version of yourself.

About the role:

At Activate Learning we understand the importance of well evidenced decision making, and the quickly growing potential of data analysis to improve this. As our Report Writer you’ll be the first person to handle any data required, preparing it for further analysis by the wider Data Science team to support their role in answering stakeholder queries and promoting the use of data-driven decision making.

Working with stakeholders throughout our colleges, you’ll help identify opportunities to utilise data, analyse their request to ensure the right solution is created and provide this data to the Data Analysts to undertake analysis. Once analysis has been completed you’ll ensure all reports have been tested and checked for accuracy prior to release and delivered to a high standard.

This is a permanent, full-time role working on a hybrid basis, with the expectation to work from our City of Oxford College campus two days per week.

What do you need to be successful as a Data Analyst and Report Writer at Activate Learning?

The successful candidates will have significant experience implementing reporting solutions and data collection tools for large datasets, analysing table structures, joins and keys. You’ll be comfortable supporting colleagues in their interactions with the Data Science team and build relationships across the organisation to help you better understand their requirements. You’ll need mathematical qualifications at A Level or higher.

Experience in the further education sector and further qualifications in relevant subjects are highly desirable, but not a requirement. You should also have good skills in SQL and a working knowledge of Power BI.

We’re looking for a candidate who can combine excellent analytical thinking skills with strong communication and relationship building, bringing a proactive approach to understanding requirements, recognising issues and recommending solutions that take into account a stakeholder’s needs.

Why work with the Activate Learning Group?

Here are some of our benefits:
