How you will make an impact:
The Genetic Science Division is a $3B business within ThermoFisher, offering a wide range of essential laboratory products serving customers in the Research, Applied and Diagnostic Markets. The Senior Financial Analyst - GSD EMEA provides relevant financial support and will reside within the EMEA Commercial Finance Planning & Analysis Team (FP&A) reporting to the EMEA GSD Senior FP&A Manager. We are seeking a pro-active finance professional who enjoys taking ownership in providing regular business insights, in leading forecast reviews, and in providing financial support & insight to the commercial leaders of the EMEA GSD Business so to support & influence the regional focus & strategy. You will join a diverse and motivated team of finance professionals within a dynamic environment where the work is fast paced, demands a flexible attitude towards to changing priorities and has high visibility to the EMEA senior leadership team. Your contributions in this role will help directly shape the commercial success of the business, whilst providing you with an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience to further drive professional development and advance your career.
What you will do:
  • Challenge & support businesses partners across teams, so to enable improved business outcomes through proactive analytics, supporting key assumptions for decision making
  • Perform regular and ad hoc analyses and update reports whilst driving understanding behind the critical business KPI's and overall financial performance (eg. Revenue, Opex)
  • Support the recurring (Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly) forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Enhance accuracy of the overall forecasting process and improve predictive capabilities using data science team expertise
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement through standardization & automation of reports and analytical processes, using new systems & tools, to drive productivity & efficiency
How you will get here:
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a Accounting/Finance or equivalent knowledge or experience
Experience
  • Proven experience in FP&A, Accounting, Finance or other Commercially facing roles
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-national, matrixed organization
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • An analytical self-starter with highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
  • Self-motivated, higher level of flexibility, strong work ethics and business acumen
  • Ability to handle and transform large sets of data into accurate and meaningful reports
  • Effective communication and presentation skills able to summarize and present information in a concise and effective manner
  • Proficient user of relevant IT & ERP systems (eg. SAP, Hyperion planning, Power BI, Cognos, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Continuous Improvement approach: Identify process and control gaps and champion improvement initiatives through Practical Process Improvement (PPI)
