The Staff Mechanical Design Engineer (Lubrication Systems) will report to the Advanced Mechanical Systems design sub-section manager and be responsible for the Mechanical Design, manufacture, and delivery of hardware used in the development testing of the next generation of narrow body jet engines. You will be responsible for the design of Lubrication System on the RISE engine program and providing guidance for a team of US and global engineers to deliver on designs to support ground/flight test demonstrators, rig tests, and product designs.
Roles and Responsibilities
As the Staff Mechanical Design Engineer you will:
Work with a closely integrated team of engineers and scientists to design the next generation of jet engine turbomachinery.
Work closely with internal and external manufacturing organizations to deliver hardware for rig, core, and full engine testing.
Develop and implement plans to ensure that contract requirements are fulfilled.
Lead efforts to solve both technical and schedule related problems.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other personnel.
Present work to subject matter experts and program leaders at technical reviews.
Participate in technical reviews as a reviewer.
Ensure work is thoroughly documented.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering
At least 5 additional years of experience in an aerospace or mechanical engineering position
Desired Characteristics
Experience in the design, analysis, manufacture or testing of mechanical systems components (bearings, sumps, seals, gears, lube/P&V systems).
Experience in Mechanical Design of Lubrication, Hydraulic, Fuel, Fluid, or Pump systems
