Co-operate and work in conjunction with other staff, professionals, and agencies providing services, and to facilitate a high standard of resident care.Administer prescribed medicines and document same in accordance with the Company’s procedures, NMC and RQIA guidelines.Provide guidance and supervision, and to monitor arrangements for the administration of medicines by non-nursing staff.Report any ill health amongst residents and make requests for GP/professional consultation where necessary.Ensure that resident care plans and all relevant assessments are completed, maintained and reviewed in conjunction with residents, relatives and other health care professionals, and in accordance with NMC and RQIA guidelines, and Company policy.Ensure the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of residents are adequately met and maintained.Ensure a clear, concise and adequate handover report is given to all relevant staff members at the end of each shift.Assist with the arrangements for the admission and discharge of residents.Receive relatives and visitors to our Homes in a courteous manner, and afford time and facilities for dialogue.Assist in providing any information relating to the care and welfare of a resident, to his/her relatives as may be requested.Handle all queries or complaints reported by relatives or others, in accordance with the relevant policies and procedures.Establish and maintain good communication with residents, relatives and with the multi-disciplinary team.Participate in staff and residents’ meetings as required.Prepare reports for, and participate in, care review and multi-disciplinary meetings as required.Provide support, guidance, direction and mentoring to care staff, new staff and peers where appropriate.Undertake a staff supervision and appraisal function as required.Maintain and enhance professional knowledge and competence in all areas of clinical practice.Attend mandatory training as required..
