SalaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse with an interest in Urology to join the nursing team within the Urology Diagnostic and Treatment Centre (DTC). The Urology DTC is based over 2 sites; located within the Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy and the Queen Margaret Hospital Dunfermline. Both areas provide a wide range of diagnostic and treatment services within an outpatient setting. It is an expectation to work across both sites.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to complement our existing nursing team in achieving the best care for our service users. You must be committed, self motivated, forward thinking and have a passion for delivering high quality patient focused care. You must be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary to perform this role safely and efficiently.
This role involves supporting the clinicians in their respective clinics by assisting procedures such as flexible cystoscopy, biopsies, stent removal, administration of bladder treatments such as Botox, and use of other urological assessment tools. You will be involved in and responsible for running the nurse led clinics, undertaking clinical procedures including bladder instillations, catheter changes, trial without catheter (TWOC), flow and scan and assessment and management of patients presenting to the emergency clinic.
Our Nursing team works closely and in partnership with the Urology Consultants and the Urology Clinical Nurse Specialists to promote and deliver high quality, evidence based patient care. Urology as a specialty is ever changing with new and innovative services being introduced, enabling NHS Fife to be able to provide holistic urological care to the residents of Fife and Scotland.
Experience within an urology or outpatient setting is desirable, although not essential, the successful candidate’s development requirements will be fully supported and training opportunities will be given to help them meet the demands of the role. The opportunity will also be available to rotate into Ward 54 (Urology) to gain further acute urological experience.
