We are looking for an experienced Relationship Manager to take responsibility for the bespoke one to one engagement and stewardship of current and new legacy supporters. You will develop and implement innovative and exciting ways to build emotional loyalty and increase support of RNIB through legacy gifts. Working nationally, the Legacy Relationship Manager will be a pivotal part of RNIB's ambitious plans to grow income from gifts in Wills.
You'll need significant experience in building and growing relationships preferably in a legacy or high value environment. You should also be a confident communicator across a broad range of channels, especially the telephone as that's how many of our supporters like to be contacted.
This role can be worked from home with regular but infrequent travel into our London based office, you may also be required to travel to other locations for events and to meet with RNIB supporters.
What you will be doing -
You'll be an integral part of the team, working directly with the Head of Department, creating outstanding customer experiences and journeys through building connections with our legacy supporters. The delivery of face-to-face events to encourage and enable people to leave a gift to RNIB will also be part of your job.
Day to day will be varied, involving contacting and stewarding warm supporters through both verbal and written communication, crafting tailored content for people who are interested in leaving a legacy gift. You'll need to be confident in the management and interrogation of data and be able to prioritise your own workload to deliver ambitious results.
Embedding legacies across RNIB is also a key aspect of this role. You'll be working closely with colleagues across teams proactively promoting legacy giving and identifying opportunities that could benefit RNIB in other ways.
Here's what you will need -
The main skills you'll need to succeed in this role are the ones that can't be taught - patience, empathy and compassion. We're not looking for a ruthless salesperson but someone who understands people, can build trust, and knows that if they do the job right, the results will follow. We need someone who is comfortable with a degree of ambiguity as we try new ideas, a creative thinker, a successful influencer.
You'll also have experience of working autonomously - this role is home-based, so self-motivation is non-negotiable. A high degree of resilience is also necessary. You'll understand or be willing to learn about ethical fundraising regulations and the supporter will always be at the heart of everything you do.
If you're someone who loves to talk, can build trust and confidence and is ready for a new challenge then this could be the role for you.
The Team-
This role is part of the legacy engagement team. We have a good team culture, meeting virtually every other week and face to face once a month. We have a mix of marketing and legacy experience and have a good reputation as being a great team to work with! The support you receive will be tailored to your needs and experience, but we'd expect that you would play a big part in all our strategic decisions and contribute to wider legacy initiatives.
As this is a new role, you'll be responsible for shaping the day to day and making this space your own - the Head of Department is a highly experienced legacy fundraiser and will provide support as required.
