Job description

We’re looking for a Stock & Systems Manager to join our team at Wincanton on a fixed term contract for 12 months. You will work across our Chippenham site to ensure an effective warehouse operation is established and maintained and will make a key contribution to the successful delivery exceed customer expectations.

Day to Day

  • Maintain stock accuracy/integrity to contractual level and target continuous improvement in accuracy levels
  • Ensure compliance to Stock and Inventory processes
  • Motivate and manage a team of MTOs to achieve, and where possible exceed, all performance objectives
  • Managing and authorising staff leave ensuring full team availability
  • Ensure the following areas are performed efficiently and achieve set KPIs - goods in, packing, kitting, goods out, loading and unloading
  • Ensure all product is handled correctly to avoid damages
  • Effectively manage resources to achieve KPI’s (quality, service, absence).
  • Ensure a proactive approach to Health & Safety via risk assessment and by ensuring that warehouse team members comply with Health and Safety policies
  • Managing and maintaining Processes & Work Instructions.
  • Attending customer meetings to fully understand their business and how we directly affect them
  • Must be able to demonstrate a pro-active and positive approach in supporting operations
  • Communicating and liaising with other departments to ensure a smooth & effective customer experience 
  • Deputise for the Distribution Centre Manager or other Team Leaders as required
  • Provide a responsive and professional service to customers

What will you bring?

  • Clear understanding and experience of Stock and Inventory Management
  • High level of experience and knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems
  • Compliance with manual handling procedures
  • Attention to detail required to assume quality checking/quality control
  • Demonstrate good team motivation and communication skills
  • Continuous improvement of existing platforms to ensure best practice is continually bettered 
  • Ability to challenge others on their methods of working and manage process adherence 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate at all levels 
  • Strong Attention to detail
